Where to Shop: Bebe

Jun 11, 2008 Author: Michelle | Filed under: Accessories, Colors, Girls, Head to Toe, Styles, Women

There are some terrific clothing companies out there, but one of my favorites is Bebe. I know whenever I need a quick fix up, a gorgeous ensemble perfect for the occasion, that I can head here and find just what I need - and without spending a fortune as well.

They offer tops, sweaters, dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, shorts and crops, pants, denim, blazers and jackets, outerwear, swimwear, shoes and more.

They have just received a new shipment of sexy, hot summer styles, and here are a few of my personal faves.

Embroidered Smocked Short Sleeve Top

This cute off the shoulder smocked shirt is perfect for those warm summer days. It is casual enough to wear for a day to the beach and yet you can easily dress it up with a pair of chocolate brown espadrilles or strappy sandals and skirt and wear out for a night on the town.

For just $69 you can add this sweet top to your summer wardrobe, and it is also available in white.

I love the decorative floral pattern on the front, which is pretty yet subtle enough that it is not overbearing.

Beading adds to the excitement, there are two bows on the top near the neckline of the shirt, and all the material is fully lined.

Ruched Bustier

I would definitely save this look for a night out to the bar or club, but it is absolutely one of my top picks from their summer selection.

The bright funky orange color is what first caught my attention, because it screams look at me and is ideal for the gorgeous summer weather.

Sexy and sophisticated, this bustier features a padded built-in bra with boning and comes with a matching three-buckle belt.

There is a hidden side zipper to ensure you can squeeze in, and there are even detachable spaghetti straps for the days when you want to make the look a bit more casual.

Floral Fantasy Flare Dress

I loved this dress as soon as I laid eyes on it. Fashionable and funky but not over the top, this cute dress fits in all the right places.

I like how the bodice of the dress is snug and tight fitting and features criss cross detailed stitching for extra enhancement and enchantment.

Pair this pretty smock with a gold arm band and espadrilles and you are set for the day, change into cute gold peep toe heels and you will look stunning through the night .

Made of a silk/spandex blend, this dress is available for just $89, and will make a wonderful addition to any wardrobe.

These are just three of hundreds of different styles offered at Bebe, and whether you check them out online or visit one of their retail locations, you are sure to fall in love and make a few return trips in the future.

It’s Summer: Stay Cool But Stay Sexy

Jun 7, 2008 Author: Michelle | Filed under: Colors, Girls, Head to Toe, Styles, Women

So summer is finally upon us, and now that we are dealing with the sweltering heat it is important to learn how to dress cool but stay looking sexy.

Go Short and Sweet

Sundress

The maxi dress is still as popular as ever, but if you want to look fashionable and still stay cool and comfortable in the warm weather, a sweet, sexy sundress is one style that really appeals to all.

There is so much versatility and variety with the sundress, as you can find them in all lengths, cuts, colors and styles.

Another advantage of the sundress is that women of all ages can wear them, from girls in their teens to working mothers, the right sundress always looks great.

Women are not the only one that love the sundress, as men get pretty excited over it as well. It is basically the perfect combination of sweet and sexy, the fit making it sexy but the fabric keeping it sweet.

Sundresses are flying off the shelves this year, as they have so many years in the past, and they will really never go out of style.

Comfort is key when it comes to sundresses, and because of this they are often made out of lightweight materials such as cotton or lycra, usually done in floral patterns and gingham checks, but there are literally hundreds of different patterns and designs to choose from.

Another great thing about the sundress is that you can easily take it from day to night, making it the perfect everyday wear for the summer.

Throw it on with a pair of flip flops to make it casual for a trip to the beach or brunch with your girlfriends, and then spice it up with a cute pair of heels or espadrilles and sexy clutch for the nighttime.

Completely multi-purpose, cool and comfortable, every woman should have at least a few sundresses as staples in their wardrobe.

Make Accessories Hot to Keep Your Cool

Accessories

Accessories are always fun, and great for finishing off an ensemble.

The best thing about accessories is that they keep you looking sexy and hot but without raising your temperature.

A pair of aviator sunglasses or an oversized jeweled bracelet will be perfect for summer and complete your outfits but without leaving you feeling smothered.

It is important that you choose the right accessories for the outfit, otherwise you will throw the whole thing off.

With a sundress for instance, you will not want to overdo the jewelry. A pair of simple sunglasses, maybe a flower in the hair - sticking with just one or two bold pieces is the best idea.

If you are going out for the night on the other hand you can really play around a bit more. Pair a sexy dress with a pearl necklace or a denim skirt and blouse with an elegant updo.

One great idea is to collect some seashells, then choose the ones you like best and glue a bobby pin sideways onto each of them and use as decorative hair clips.

The key here is balance, and you never want to be too casual or overly jazzed up. Summertime is the time for doing style in comfort, and there is no better way to add to your own personal style than with the right accessories.

Don’t Forget Your Feet

Sandals

Of course you can’t forget about your feet when it comes to summer.

Sure, walking around in barefoot may be fine on the beach, but for the day to day you are going to need to keep your feet cool but sexy and stylish.

You don’t need to wear high heels every day and night, but having a couple pairs in your collection is important.

If you feel like a splurge, check out the line of Jimmy Choo strappy sandals for this season.

From grecian to bejeweled, these sandals are really out of this world and although they may be a bit pricey, they are well worth it for the versatility they offer.

It is always good to have a pair or two of flip flops, whether you just want to wear them around the house and pool or out to a comfortable breakfast some summer morning.

The thong sandal is one of the hottest shoe styles this summer, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs have a fantastic collection of these for you to drool over.

The most important thing here is that you realize you do not have to dress frumpy or overly skimpy just to deal with the warm summer weather.

Go to the right designers, choose the right fashions, and you will be stunning in the sunlight all summer long.

Yves Saint Laurent Yves Saint Laurent, one of the greatest fashion designers of all time, the man who gave the women’s movement an important leg up by designing the pantsuit that helped them bring a more professional look to the workplace, has died at the age of 71.

One of the most influential and enduring designers of the 20th century, Saint Laurent died Sunday night at his home in Paris, when he lost his yearlong battle with brain cancer.

This is a true tragedy, especially to his family and close friends, and of course the millions of Saint Laurent fans around the world.

Saint Laurent gave women power with his creative designs, and there is and never has been a fashion designer in the world that is like him.

Born August 1, 1936 in Oran, Algeria, Saint Laurent quickly fell in love with theater and the arts when he was just a boy. He left for Paris at the young age of 17 and never looked back, destined for a career in fashion.

Most famously known for his sleek haute couture and ready to wear styles, the Saint Laruent name first became prominent in the fashion world when he succeeded Christian Dior after his sudden death in 1957.

He continued to produce timeless designs year after year and in 1983 he actually became the first living fashion designer to be honored by New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

As Saint Laurent himself once quoted, “Fashions fade but style is eternal”, and his life is one that will definitely not soon be forgotten.

We all know how difficult it can be to find a really good beauty product of any sort, and this has never been truer than when it applies to a face cleanser.

I have extremely sensitive skin - you blow on my skin and it goes red for hours. I actually have very good skin, clear and healthy, but very, very sensitive and quite dry.

It has therefore been very hard for me to find a good face wash, one that is going to clean and purify but without over tightening or leaving my skin irritated and itchy.

I have to admit that I already loved Oil of Olay products even before I tried this one, as they are the only ones that have been gentle enough for my delicate skin and which provide it with the moisture that it needs without leaving an oily feeling afterwards.

I was on the hunt for a good face wash so I went to the website Olay For You, where you literally get to pick and choose answers to different questions which are used to determine what the best products are going to be for you.

My results offered a few different product ideas, but the Oil of Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wash With Aloe for Sensitive Skin was the first I wanted to try.

Oil of Olay

The wash comes in a tube and it stands on its top, and is very easy to squeeze out and apply to the face. I love that you only need to use about a dime-sized amount of the wash and it is enough to cleanse your entire face.

It took my makeup off very well, even eyeliner and mascara which is fabulous because I’m used to just using the good ole Oil of Olay soap bar which is fine for that but very drying on my skin.

I was really impressed with this product from Olay because it leaves your skin feeling so moisturized and not super tight and squeaky clean which is important to me. It leaves your skin soft and smooth and yet is tough enough to handle dirt, oil and makeup.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, especially those of you who have super sensitive skin as I do and who are looking for a fantastic but affordable product that you can use for the long term.

Geek Sexy: Emile Hirsch

Jun 3, 2008 Author: Michelle | Filed under: Boys, Celebrities, Guys, Movies, Styles

Emile Hirsch Who says geeks can’t be sexy? Nothing is farther from the truth when it comes to Emile Hirsch, the super sexy star of the new film Speed Racer.

You may have seen him before in flicks such as Lords of Dogtown, The Emperor’s Club, The Girl Next Door, Alpha Dog and Into the Wild, but he has really made his mark playing the star role in his new feature film.

His style is definitely unique, different from that of most the men in Hollywood we see.

Rather than dressing in standard suits Emile prefers a more contemporary style, choosing a bowtie over the typical full length tie.

His casual cool style has taken geek-chic to a whole other level. He really seems to have perfected the laid-back but oh-so-suave and stylish celebrity look.

Emile Hirsch

Emile has a sort of kooky, geeky style, but it is still super sexy and definitely works for him.

He is absolutely crush-worthy, but his innovative and personalized style is what really sets him apart and makes him stand out from the crowd. We will of course be keeping our eyes open to see what this geek sexy superstar comes up with next.

Bohemian Hip: Comfortable and Stylish Fashions

Jun 2, 2008 Author: Michelle | Filed under: Uncategorized

In my opinion the Bohemian look will never really be out, unless of course you attack it like Mary-Kate Olsen and then maybe you should just stay away from the trend entirely.

I think MK goes a little overboard with the whole Bohemian thing, but as long as you just play with a few pieces you can really be comfortable and stunning all at the same time.

Here are a few of my favorite Bohemian pieces that you will want to check out for yourself.
